Electronics for your MagRacing car (Coil steering)

Many have written to me about 1/32 scale cars and where to buy them. As it is right now, you can’t buy a working 1/32 scale car anywhere. But you can build one, if you use one of Neds chassis.

Ned Phillips chassis is based on the coil steering system, like the first original cars. To control the coil with standard RC electronics, you need a control board. (Electromagnetic actuator conversion board, used for indoor rc planes)

I have uploaded a video were I control the coil with a RC receiver using the controller. The response time is a little slow in the video,  the steering rate was on low, I have now adjusted it to high and the response is faster.

Parts you need:

Chassis
Neds chassis on Shapeways

Control board on Aliexpress

Transmitter with receiver
If you remove the electronic pcb from the plastic, it becomes a lot smaller, only 20 x 18mm

ESC (Electronic Speed Controller)
Dimensions 28 x 18mm
